ShrodingersCat SG Mmm the friends I camp with really value GOOD FOOD. Once they even brought a chicken up there to cook... mud chicken where the chicken is roasted underground in the earth. That one only my shifu can do... we also had 'steamboat' once.. wow it was fantastic.. weather was chilly and drizzley and the soup we had was very nice and warm... Fish is difficult for us in tropical climate ba... except ikan bilis.. And stuff like mee hoon kway or noodle soup.. as long as got water supply... everything is easily obtainable leh... and vegetables are great cos they are light and filling and lasting.. like Sayur Manis for the Mee Hoon Kway... Oh claypot rice without the claypot lah btw... but bringing some cabbage along with ur lupcheong and dried mushrooms and dried shrimps....with suitable sauce.. u get a pretty good 'claypot' rice liao what.
elindra SG Steamboat isn't something I like eating Basically it's just boiled food I like BBQs coz I can hover around and butterfly between different cliques
ShrodingersCat SG Somehow i always get stuck at the pit during BBQs... and I guess essentially I like socialising in small cosy groups.. bigger groups like most BBQs are stress me out... My whole family loves steamboat... dont know why leh. We love the communal feeling of it.. just boiling a whole variety of stuff... but what is the most important in steamboat is... THE CHILLI. You need GOOD CHILLI. without it.. it is as u said.. just.. boiled... food....
elindra SG My family prefers a sit down 8 course dinner Be it home cooked or at a resturant We only had steamboat for Chinese New Year once None of us liked it Well, I'm not one who likes to dip my food in chilli sauce so it's really just boiled food for me.
the Bear SG i'm at work my notebook finally bought the farm last night will be buying the NEW iMac with Core 2 Duo! and no.. i did not kill my computer for the new iMac.. it died before i found out about the new iMac... now.. should i pay $$800 more for a 24-inch iMac or stick with the 20-inch iMac?

the Bear SG it's "subject to agency approval" now.. but i think it's for the wireless bluetooth keyboard which i don't want... wonder if they'll let me lug it home?
the Bear SG boss not around in the morning... everything is cleared... and i'm marking time awaiting deployment at the airport from tomorrow.. going to waste time i think i'll go compose another ode to Nutella
